About the NRFG

In the past year, many DPOs from practice have provided input in various working groups to achieve the establishment of the Stichting Het Nederlands Register voor Functionarissen voor Gegevensbescherming (Dutch Register for Data Protection Officers) – NRFG. At present, several important decisions still need to be made and steps taken to proceed to the actual launch.

The NRFG is placed within an independent foundation with an associated board. The foundation has recently been established. This means that an interim board of five persons, and where necessary with input from the working groups, is working on the establishment and the first phase of the register.

The interim board will deal exclusively with the first necessary practical aspects of the establishment of the NRFG. All efforts are aimed at ensuring that DPOs will be able to register in the register as of 15 May. During the coming period, this website will gradually be expanded with further information about, among other things, the launch, the registration procedure, the quality standards and frequently asked questions.
